Interesting. Do you have any symptoms? I have 2 cousins with the disease, and a close friend. They all had severe stomach aches and pains before they started eating a gluten free diet.
I wouldn't say severe, but my stomach would hurt after eating wheat, I think. I thought I was having Carpal Tunnel again, but it might be celiac. Also, I'm more tired.
But all this could be explained by other reasons. Like my weight gain, not eating as much raw food, not exercising, or another condition with simmilar symptoms.
Needless to say, I'm actually motivated enough to not eat that brownie my husband brought home from work today! So I'll probably schedule a docter's appointment. My only hesitation is, why bother...just eat a GF diet and more raw food.
I read a book called "Dangerous Grains" by James Braly. It is full of information about how gluten effects our bodies and how most people wouldn't even know that gluten was the cause. Illnesses like ADHD, arthritis, asthma, autism, cancer, Crohn's disease, depression, dermatitis herpetiformis, diabetes, epilepsy, headache, heart disease, irritable bowel syndrome, liver disease, multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis, schizophrenia and thyroid disease can all be caused by gluten.
I love bread! Even though i only eat sprouted wheat bread, i still feel better when i eat gluten free bread or even better, no bread at all.
I am a mom of two terrific kids and married to a wonderful man. I am a 70-100% raw vegetarian since January 2008. This blog is a record of my journey as a raw foodist. At 39 years old, I'm trying to have a 3rd child. My hope is to provide a success story of a raw vegan pregnancy.

Good news: I don't have Celiac or any other problems, like Thyroid or Diabetes.
I still think I should at least cut back on grains, especially Gluten grains. And of course eat more raw food and exercise.
I've been reading everything on the subject. I especially got a lot out of "Going Against the Grain".
My only question is, would I feel as terrific as I did when I was 100% raw, if I also eat cooked veggies and no grains/beans/yeast?
